There are so many award sites out there that it's almost impossible to count them all. Sadly, many of them are simply glorified link exchanges. You apply for an award and an automated generic e-mail congratulates you on your win and sends you on your merry way. These 2 awards are different. you must EARN them.

Below are samples of the awards and the criteria you must meet to qualify for them. Remember, just because you meet all the criteria doesn't mean that you will win the award. The sites must possess exemplary execution, creativity and style. Please review the criteria then apply for them here. Good luck!

Top 3% Silver Award - To qualify for this award, the site must be written in English or Chinese. It should have an attractive layout. Should you have any graphics, they should ideally be created by you, however that is not a necessity. If you use clipart, the user must not be able to tell that it is. Otherwise, you will not be considered. You must not link to images found on others servers. Should you get caught doing so, you will be immediately blacklisted. The only exception to this rule is webrings and awards in which the webmaster tells you to do so.

There must be no broken links and images must be optimized. If you have any music on your page, the user must be able turn it off. The music must also match the theme of the page. Emphasis will be placed on overall site design rather than content, however, you must have some useful content on your page. There must not be any scripts or plug-ins which cause my browser to crash and it must be viewable in all resolutions from 800 x 600 up to 1600 x 1200.

Finally, you must be proud of your page! It must be something that you would be happy to share with your friends and family. Few sites will be selected for this award so should you not win, please feel free to apply again after you have made considerable improvements to your page.

Top 1% Gold Award - This award will be awarded very rarely. Few sites will even qualify for this award and an even smaller number of sites will win. To even be considered for this award, the site must meet all the criteria for the silver award and then some. It must exemplify excellent site design, and ideally use some of the latest technologies such as DHTML, flash and XML. It must have mostly unique content and all graphics found on the site must be created by the webmaster excluding webring graphics and awards of course.

Most importantly of all, it must make me say *WOW!* This award will be very rare indeed and should you win this, you should be proud to display it for only few people will have that honor.
